Affiliate tracking software records which partner's link, coupon or postback produced each sale and turns that record into a commission you can pay.

For a SaaS product billed through Stripe, entry plans at Rewardful, FirstPromoter, Tolt and TrackRev run $39 to $69 a month.

Stores on Shopify or WooCommerce, and programs that report sales by postback, fit Tapfiliate, LeadDyno, Post Affiliate Pro, Everflow or impact.com better.

I run TrackRev, so it is entry 9 and gets the same scrutiny as the rest, including where it loses. If Stripe is your only processor, affiliate software for Stripe narrows the list.

Key takeaways

  • Entry plans run from $30 a month at impact.com to $89 at Tapfiliate and Post Affiliate Pro, but each vendor meters something different: affiliate revenue, clicks, tracking requests, active affiliates or partner commission.
  • Safari deletes script-written cookies after 7 days without a visit, LeadDyno's tracking needs third-party cookies to be allowed, and a postback needs your server to store a click ID.
  • FirstPromoter reads Stripe, Paddle, Chargebee, Recurly and Braintree; Rewardful reads Stripe and Paddle; TrackRev reads Stripe, Paddle, Polar and Lemon Squeezy.
  • A program with $12,000 a month of affiliate revenue and 60 affiliates costs $39 a month on TrackRev, $99 on Rewardful or FirstPromoter, $129 on LeadDyno and $179 on Tapfiliate.
  • None of the pricing pages here lists a free plan that pays partners. PromoteKit's free plan stops at 3 referrals, and most of the others sell 7 to 30 day trials.

How affiliate tracking software follows a sale

An affiliate tracker needs two records to pay anyone: who sent the visitor and which payment came later.

Most tools here keep the first record in a cookie that a script on your site writes when a visitor lands on a partner link.

Everflow, Tapfiliate and Post Affiliate Pro also accept a click ID plus a server postback, and TrackRev logs the click server-side at a tracked redirect.

WebKit's tracking prevention page says Intelligent Tracking Prevention deletes cookies created in JavaScript, and other script-writeable storage, after 7 days without user interaction with the site, so a 60-day window can lose a Safari visitor who returns on day 8.

A postback reports the sale from your server, though your site still has to hold the click ID until then.

For subscriptions the tool should read billing events instead of a thank-you page, because only billing events catch the month-2 renewal and the month-5 refund. How affiliate tracking works and postback versus pixel go deeper.

The nine platforms in detail

1. Rewardful, for Stripe-first SaaS programs

Rewardful starts at $49 and covers $7,500 of affiliate-attributed revenue, 1 campaign and 2 team members, with a 14-day trial, a 0% transaction fee and annual billing at 12 months for the price of 10.

Rewardful Growth ($99, $15,000) adds the branded portal, custom domain, private campaigns and custom rewards, and Enterprise starts at $149.

A script writes a cookie when a visitor lands on a ?via= link, and checkout passes the referral ID to Stripe as the client reference ID, per Rewardful's Stripe Checkout guide.

Commissions are fixed or percentage, one-time or recurring, first or last touch, and they adjust on upgrades, downgrades and refunds.

Self-referral detection and PayPal and Wise mass payouts come on every plan, while managed payouts add a 3% fee, or $30 per $1,000 sent. The integrations page names Stripe and Paddle as the billing systems.

2. FirstPromoter, for SaaS billing beyond Stripe

FirstPromoter Starter is $49 for $5,000 of affiliate revenue, 1,000 affiliates and 3 campaigns. FirstPromoter Business ($99, $15,000) removes the affiliate and campaign limits and adds the custom domain, white-labeling and one-click PayPal payouts.

It lists 5 billing systems and imports historical Stripe data when you migrate.

Cookie life runs up to 9,999 days, with first or last click and sub-IDs that let affiliates split one link by channel. Its help center describes a _fprom_track cookie passed into Stripe Checkout.

Commission rules include a separate first-order rate, earning caps, cost-per-lead and multi-tier commissions across 3 levels. Fraud controls cover self-referral detection, a paid-ad traffic policy, reCAPTCHA, negative commissions on refunds, approval thresholds and two-factor authentication on large payments.

Postback URLs, SSO and managed payouts require Enterprise, at $149.

3. Tolt, for flat-fee Stripe, Paddle and Chargebee programs

Tolt Basic is $69 and covers $10,000 "earned from affiliates", 2 programs, 3 team members and manual payouts.

Tolt Growth ($99, $20,000) adds automatic payouts, affiliate invoices, W-9 and W-8 collection and 1099 filing, and Pro is $199 for $50,000, all with a 14-day trial. Automatic payouts carry a 2% fee, which is $20 per $1,000.

A 4 KB script exposes the visitor ID as window.tolt_referral. Your backend passes it to Stripe as tolt_referral metadata and Tolt reads it back from the payment, per Tolt's Stripe guide.

The pricing page says cancellations stop commission and refunds deduct it, and it lists no fraud controls, so ask about self-referral checks.

4. Tapfiliate, for a store and a subscription product on one tool

Tapfiliate meters traffic as well as affiliates. Tapfiliate Launch is $89 ($74 billed annually) for 1 program, 1 team member, 50 affiliates, 5,000 clicks and 500 conversions, with overage at $1.50 per 1,000 clicks and $15 per 1,000 conversions.

Tapfiliate Scale is $179 ($149 billed annually) for unlimited affiliates and programs, 100,000 clicks, 10,000 conversions, multi-level and group commissions and Trolley payouts. Trials last 7 days on Launch and 14 on Scale.

Tracking options are a JavaScript pixel, a REST API and S2S postbacks, plus coupons and over 30 integrations. Its developer guide calls storing the click ID on the first page load the hard part of server-side tracking.

5. LeadDyno, for small stores that want a 30-day trial

LeadDyno gives every plan unlimited clicks and conversions plus a 30-day free trial, and limits active affiliates: Lite is $49 for 50, Essential $129 for 150, Advanced $349 for 500 and Unlimited $749.

Yearly billing saves 15%, so LeadDyno Essential drops to $110. Essential adds multi-level commissions and a custom affiliate domain, and Advanced adds per-product commissions and white-labeling.

Its integrations page counts over 25 direct connections. Its cookie documentation says tracking cookies sit under LeadDyno's domain, so browsers treat them as third-party cookies on your site, and visitors who block them can't be matched to an affiliate.

6. Post Affiliate Pro, for the most tracking fallbacks

Post Affiliate Pro prices on tracking requests, and impressions, events, clicks and sales all count. Starter is $89 ($79 billed annually) for 10,000 requests and 2 years of tracking history, with extras at $5 per 10,000.

Pro is $139 for 1 million requests with 220+ integrations, Ultimate $269 for 6 million and Network $649 for 20 million. The page still tags Starter a limited offer valid through May to July 2026, so confirm that price.

Its tracking methods page lists browser cookies, HTML5 local storage, IP address and user agent plus IP, evaluated in that order, with S2S separate.

A visitor with cleared cookies can still match by IP, which gives the broadest fallback chain here and the loosest on shared networks.

The page names Pro, Ultimate and Network as the plans with these methods, so confirm what Starter covers.

Commissions include recurring, lifetime, product-specific and multi-tier structures up to 99 tiers, and fraud protection blocks duplicate order IDs and repeat sign-ups from one IP.

7. Everflow, for partner networks and performance marketing

Everflow publishes no prices: the pricing page is a quote form, plans carry a 6-month commitment, and new clients get a one-time onboarding service. Tracking centers on a transaction ID generated per click.

Your site stores it and your server fires a postback at the sale, a path the help center rates as immune to ad blockers and cookie limits and medium effort to set up, against a Safari 7-day limit for the HTML pixel.

Everflow tracks CPA, CPC and CPM payouts plus recurring revenue through offer events, runs an affiliate marketplace and lists SOC 2 compliance and free migrations from Tune, Cake and HitPath.

It is built for brands managing many partners across paid media, so a SaaS with 30 affiliates would carry more machinery than it needs.

8. impact.com, for brands that want a partner marketplace

impact.com lists Starter from $30, Essentials from $500, Pro from $2,500 and Enterprise by quote. Starter needs a supported store platform and covers promo code and link tracking, product feeds and basic contracting.

Essentials adds a marketplace the page sizes at 90,000 partners, unlimited contract templates and performance bonuses. API-based and cross-device tracking start at Pro, and fraud scoring needs Enterprise.

A 2.5% transaction fee applies to partner-driven sales ($2,500 on $100,000), plus a one-time setup fee.

The jump from $30 to $500 to $2,500 makes it a poor first program and a fair fit for a brand that already wants a publisher marketplace.

9. TrackRev, for SaaS programs that also compare channels

Plans are Starter at $39 (1 workspace, $10K of partner commission tracked monthly, $351 billed annually), Growth at $99 ($100K, unlimited workspaces) and Scale at $199 (unlimited, priority support), and annual billing pays for 9 months and gives 12.

Every paid plan includes unlimited partners and programs, multi-tier commissions, cash or credit rewards, white-label partner pages and unlimited tracking links.

Partner links are tracked redirects that log the click server-side, and one first-party pixel on your site ties a visit to the payment.

The cookie window runs 1 to 3,650 days per program (60 by default), and the workspace picks last click, first click or shared credit. Refunds and disputes reverse commission.

Because partner links are ordinary tracked links, the same affiliate link tracking covers newsletters, YouTube and paid ads, so partner revenue can be compared with other channels.

Payout batches run weekly to quarterly, with a hold period of 0 to 180 days (default 0). You export a PayPal or Wise CSV, pay it and mark each payout paid, and partners upload W-9 or W-8 forms at onboarding.

The free plan tracks 50 links and 1,000 events a month, and partner commissions start on Starter.

It has no postback URL, no Shopify or WooCommerce connector and no automatic payouts, so look at FirstPromoter if you bill through Chargebee, Recurly or Braintree, Tapfiliate or LeadDyno for Shopify orders, and Everflow for postbacks.

The affiliate program page lists the features.

What a $12,000-a-month program costs on each plan

Affiliate commission tracking is metered differently at each vendor. Take a program that drives $12,000 a month of affiliate revenue at a 20% commission ($2,400) with 60 active affiliates, billed monthly.

ToolWhat decides the planPlan neededPer month
Rewardful$12,000 revenue against $7,500 on StarterGrowth$99
FirstPromoter$12,000 revenue against $5,000 on StarterBusiness$99
LeadDyno60 active affiliates against 50 on LiteEssential$129
Tapfiliate60 affiliates against 50 on LaunchScale$179
TrackRev$2,400 commission against $10,000 on StarterStarter$39

Worked from each vendor's published plan limits, October 2026.

Rewardful Growth and FirstPromoter Business land on $99 because $12,000 clears both entry limits. LeadDyno and Tapfiliate jump on affiliate count. TrackRev meters the $2,400 commission, so Starter holds until commission reaches $10,000, or $50,000 of sales at 20%.

Against Rewardful Growth that is $60 a month, $720 a year. Tolt labels its tiers "earned from affiliates", so read that wording first, and Post Affiliate Pro and Tapfiliate also count clicks.

Free affiliate tracking software and cheaper options

None of the pricing pages above lists a free plan that pays partners. Rewardful, FirstPromoter and Tolt give 14-day trials, LeadDyno 30 days and Tapfiliate 7 to 30.

TrackRev's free plan covers 50 links and 1,000 events a month, with partner commissions starting on Starter.

PromoteKit has a free plan for your first 3 referrals with 1 campaign, coupon tracking and PayPal or Wise payouts, and PromoteKit Pro is $29 for $10,000 a month from affiliates and adds self-referral detection.

Affonso starts at $15 billed yearly ($19 monthly) for $1,000 a month of partner revenue, with fraud detection and a 14-day trial, and its Growth plan ($29 billed yearly, $10,000) adds managed payouts. The Affonso comparison covers where each fits.

Before paying for a year, click a partner link in a private window, buy your cheapest plan and refund it. The commission should appear, then reverse.

For a first program, how to create an affiliate program covers commission math, terms and payouts, and preventing self-referral fraud covers the checks to turn on first.
