In practice the difference is who the partner is, not how the tracking works. An affiliate is usually an individual — a newsletter writer, a YouTuber, a consultant — sending traffic to a link. A partner is usually a company: an agency reselling you, an integration partner, a firm bundling you into a retainer. Both get paid for revenue they generate, so TrackRev runs both on the same attribution: a first-party tracked click joined to the real charge in Stripe, Paddle Billing, Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Creem or Dodo Payments.

Yes. Multi-tier lets a partner earn on the partners they recruit, so an agency can bring its own network and earn on the whole chain. Commission groups let you pay different rates to different partner types — a 20% recurring rate for content affiliates and a flat one-time rate for integration partners, for example — without running two systems.

It reverses automatically, across every tier of the chain. A refunded charge flips the order to refunded, which means it earns no channel attribution and its commission is clawed back before it can reach a payout — so you never pay out on revenue you did not keep. Chargebacks behave the same way. On Creem and Dodo Payments a partial refund still counts as a paid order, so a small goodwill refund does not wipe out a partner's whole commission.

Yes, from a CSV export of your current platform — no API keys and no re-onboarding your partners. There are step-by-step guides for FirstPromoter, Rewardful and Tolt, plus a generic one for any platform that exports a CSV. Affiliates, referral codes, coupon codes, approval status, payout emails, lifetime totals and unpaid balances all come across; individual order history stays in the old tool, since TrackRev recomputes commissions from your own charges.

Two things preserve them. The import re-uses each partner's existing referral code as their TrackRev link slug, so a link ending in /sarah still ends in /sarah — and if a code is already taken in your workspace, that partner gets a fresh link and the import tells you exactly which ones changed. Then you point the domain or subdomain the old links used at TrackRev. Nothing silently breaks.

No. Each badge is issued by the directory that lists us, and links back to that listing. Directories set their own criteria — some are open submission, some are editorially curated. Read the listing rather than the badge: it will tell you when the entry was reviewed and what the directory checked.
